CPC Run The Hague 2010

26480 runners joined the 36e CPC Run The Hague on distances from 1 km to a Half Marathon on Sunday March 14, 2010!

This year’s event the start and finish was for the first time on the Koningskade along the Malieveld in the Hague. Many people supported the runners everywhere along the course and at the finish.

Patrick Makau from Kenya won for the second time on a row the men’s race. He outsprinted Ethiopian Eshetu Wendimu winning in 59:51 beating his last opponent in the final long sprint by one second. Three other runners also broke the barrier of 60 minutes. They were: John Mwangangi (59:56 pb), Eric Ndiema (59:57) and Robert Kipchumba (59:58).

The women’s race was not such a close affair as the men’s one. Pauline Wangui won in a time of 1:10:36. Second was Irene Jerotich in a time of 1:11: 17 and third, Merel de Knegt from the Netherlands in a time of 1:13:10(pb).
